Landing Page

A landing page is the page a visitor arrives on when they enter a website from a search result, an ad or a link. It is built to receive traffic with a specific errand and move it toward one action, which makes it one of the most decisive pages a company owns.

The term carries two meanings. In analytics tools such as GA4, a landing page is simply any page that serves as an entry point to the site. In marketing, it is a page designed for the purpose: one audience, one message, one clear call to action.

What defines a strong landing page

The governing principle is match. The headline and content have to answer the search intent that brought the visitor there. Someone searching for "accountant for sole traders" who lands on a generic homepage about bookkeeping leaves again; the same person landing on a page that speaks to their situation reads on. A considered setup therefore runs one landing page per keyword cluster, so every important query has a page built to meet it. The page also has to make the next step obvious, with a clear statement of value, proof in the form of cases or reviews, and a visible call to action.

Landing pages are where visibility and revenue meet: rankings bring the visit, the page decides what the visit becomes. The build itself is taken apart in the guide to landing pages.
